'Da Dues Part 2

Have you ever hiked the dunes? It's surprisingly difficult, contrary to popular belief. Sand walking is effing difficult, and when you've got 28 eleven year olds walking with you and seven other counselours spread out over probably half a mile. So yeahhhhh, that was the trip.
But in all actuality it was awesome. I was with the pretty good campers most of the time, so they made the big hike okay, but I heard some stories from the counselours who were bringing up the back of the group (a.k.a. the slowest and most complaining campers). Apparently some of the kids were throwing themselves on the ground and refusing to walk. One of them was apparently even like, 'I'm never doing Isle Royale*, you can't make me go!' and just all of that fun stuff. I dealt with some tear too, but nothing like them.
The dunes are so beautiful though, especially Devil's Bowl during the sunset. If you're ever in the area around the dunes I totally recommend going to see it. And rolling/running down the dunes is possibly one of the most fun things that you will ever do. I rolled down one of them twice and it was a blast. I even did a couple of summersaults along the way at the end.
The food was pretty good too. We had to cook it all ourselves, no big deal (done that before), and we actually had a ton of food for the trip. The kids however, seemed to think they were starving. They were always coming up for more food and there was one morning that they woke us up at 8am to make them cereal for breakfast. At camp they're all still asleep at 8 and you normally have to practically pull them out of bed to get to flagpole on time. So that wasn't magnificent, but the fact that they thought that weren't getting a lot of food was actually pretty funny.
All in all it was a solid trip. I think that's all for now though. Night!

P.S. I got my nose pierced about 18 hours before we went on the trip too. Surprise!
