So That's That

Guess what I'm not doing tomorrow? Going to my second studio class! Yeah, I get out of my first studio class at 11:40, and then I'm not going to class again until 5:45 that night (which is actually tonight-eek!). Yeah, so instead of going to class like a good student, with my work all nice and prepared and shit, I decided to not do my work that is very not prepared and skip that class. Instead my two roommates K and M (I'm just not going to mention names just because) and I are going to skip class and have an adventure! It's going to be super great (besides the fact that the other two are totally going to have a pre-adventure adventure without me because I'm going to be semi-responsible and only skip one class instead of two). I don't think that we really have any idea what we're going to be doing quite yet. Probably something along the lines of going out to lunch and possibly hanging out in Farmington, maybe seeing a movie, and I'm all for going to thi...

THE Hot New Game

Picture this: College aged kids (so, from about 18-24) in an open gallery in their school. Tied around their waists are a pair of pantyhose, and at the end of one of the pantyhose legs swings an orange. It is a game, and the objective? To move another orange that is on the ground by hitting it with your orange. That's right, swing those hips you college student you! Thrust that orange forward! And to make the situation even more ridiculous, probably more than half of those students playing the game are dressed nicely that day (I was in tights and a dress). That was probably one of the most ridiculous things that I've done so far, and the most exciting thing I've done today. The reason we were doing this was because these were our winter carnival events that the greeks are doing as a precursor to Greek day, which is going to be in April. We do three events over the course of the week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The objective is to get as many points as possible before...

My Home

Here I am, 2:30 in the morning, doing homework still and procrastinating because I really don't want to do it. (I have to do marker layers and my hand is cramping up because of the stupid project). In my stalling of work I got to pondering about how, in such a short time, this place has become another one of my many homes to me. It's so much smaller than anything I've ever lived in before, but I love being here as much as I ever have anyplace else, and I've lived here the shortest amount of time. I know that at the end of the year we'll all have to pack up and leave the place and next year I'll have a different room (maybe on my own, fingers crossed for being an RA) and I won't live here again, but it just seems like such a strange thing. I can't imagine not being here, with these people. I've grown so close to everyone here in a short time, and while I'm excited for everything that's coming this summer, it'll be sad to see this place go...

Fort Building Should Be My Real Major

Well, fun fact, the heating is in fact, fixed, but I happen to think that the room is still too chilly. What can I say? Im just kind of a wimp, especially since I hail from Northern Michigan and all. So, I can guess what you're thinking, 'Two posts? On basically the same day? Wait, what?' And to that, I think back at you, 'Yesssssss'. (That is significantly better when you put my roommates voices to it, because the narration is just so much more entertaining.) But yes, enough had happened that I deemed it blog-worthy to go up in a short amount of time. Alright, so yesterday was my roommate's birthday, and we celebrated appropriately with cake and pizza. The cake was tie-dye. That's right, a multi-colored cake (her favorite color is rainbow, so it was fitting). That went over surprisingly well, especially considering that we had to 1)Mix up the batter 2)Divide it up into 6 cups (a.k.a. messy) 3)Dye all of them appropriately. Yes, there was mess and batter a...

The Official 3rd Floor Cooler

OH MY GOD MY ROOM IS SO COLD So guess what everyone? The heat in my room stopped working a day and a half ago! Go us! Yeah, on Friday, my roommates and I went over and watched like five hours worth of movies in our friend's room, and then came back that night to find out that our heat wasn't exactly working in any way shape or form. We put in a work order yesterday night, but I don't think maintenance works on Sundays. It's kid of uber-depressing. Like, so much. I DO NOT like sitting in the cold in my own room. Our hallway is warmer than my room, that is how depressingly cold it is. We all split up last night, and my one roommate went to sleep on her boyfriend's couch, while we, the boyfriend-less ones went to sleep on our RA's couch. Our oven is currently on and the door to the hallway is open so that it can hopefully warm up the room a little bit. Tea is my new remedy- I have had so much of it in the past couple days. But enough complaining for now. Alrigh...

It Has Begun

So I've never really done this kind of thing before. Diaries, been tried with varying amounts of sucess. Blogs? Not so much. So bear with me while I figure this all out. Two of some of my best friends both use this thing, and seeing what they write about kind of inspired me to start my own. It just seems like this really good thing, to, ya' know, get my thoughts out there and all that jazz... Please just either ignore my incredible awkwardness that even comes out when I write, and talk, and basically any movement that I do. So here's a little bit about me: I'm (finally!) a freshman in her second semester in college. (And it's pretty darn great) I am beyond random, and awkward, and generally weird, and I really love being like that.  I love reading and writing. Art is one of my favourite things ever. Drawing, painting, and all of that cool stuff-mabobs. (I'll probably end up talking about it in here, it's basically my major). I go to camp in the summe...
