THE Hot New Game

Picture this: College aged kids (so, from about 18-24) in an open gallery in their school. Tied around their waists are a pair of pantyhose, and at the end of one of the pantyhose legs swings an orange. It is a game, and the objective? To move another orange that is on the ground by hitting it with your orange. That's right, swing those hips you college student you! Thrust that orange forward! And to make the situation even more ridiculous, probably more than half of those students playing the game are dressed nicely that day (I was in tights and a dress).
That was probably one of the most ridiculous things that I've done so far, and the most exciting thing I've done today. The reason we were doing this was because these were our winter carnival events that the greeks are doing as a precursor to Greek day, which is going to be in April. We do three events over the course of the week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The objective is to get as many points as possible before Greek day so that you can get ahead come the actual day. The sorority/fraternity with the most points at the end of Greek day wins.
And so that is why I was swinging an orange between my legs today, why I will be slurping Jello as fast as I can with my roommate on Friday, and why my Big Sister (from the Deephers) participated in the toilet paper race yesterday. WE WILL CONQUER! Wish us luck!

WHAM BAM, HOT DAMN WHO THE HELL ARE WE? WE'RE THE LOVELY SISTERS OF DPHIE! Wow my past week has been crazy. I Should Be A Model

This last Thursday I got back from from visiting my brother, sister-in-law, and my niece (she's six months old and absolutely adorable) with my mom. We did a lot of super cool stuff over the course of three days there and two days spent traveling there. Besides this we also visited the Midtown Global Market, had Nepalese food, and my brother and I went on a ten-mile-abouts bike ride. It was super great to be able to go out and visit them. They live in another state, so we don't get to see them a lot, and this is also only the second time that I've gotten to see my niece, so going out to see them was a nice chance to visit. My ma and I also made a sight-seeing trip out of the ride to them (It's almost 11 hours, so breaks are nice) and split it up into two days. We got to see this abandoned town in the UP, Fayette, which is super cool and I recommend visiting it if you ever get the chance. Roots and Leaves

In the new member ed classes we do in my sorority we do this activity called roots and leaves, where we draw a tree (it doesn't have to be anything special) and the leaves represent qualities about yourself that are obvious or easily visible; whereas the roots are things about you that not everyone knows. Now, the one that I did with the sorority, I didn't put everything down that I really thought belonged on there, so I made my own.
